Literature Text

She turns and smiles, and it's startling
A look so pure, so unknowing
Like a spring bud not yet bloomed
Its white face never having seen the sun
Like fresh snow not yet stepped in.
She seems so fragile
As if one touch could make her fall apart
To preserve that innocence forever would be a dream
But he must let her go
And her white girlhood be tainted
Let the new blossom taste the sun for the first time
Let the sparkling snow become muddy and dull
Let the petals wilt and fall
In English today we did poems based on the color imagery in The Great Gatsby.
I picked white, which stands for innocence and stuff.
Okay this poem started out about me when I was a little kid, but it ended up about a father and his daughter.
Also, right after I wrote the "snow" part, it started snowing XD first real snowfall we've had all year.
... I have no idea what category this belongs in...
